1. Scope & Acceptance

By installing, accessing, or using the VerifyShot Chrome Extension, our website, or our verification web apps, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please refrain from using our software and services.

2. Description of Service

VerifyShot provides technical web snapshot utilities, including visible and full-page canvas stitching, NTP time queries, DOM modification alerts, SHA-256 hash computation, and public verification lookup.

3. No Warranty & Software Provided "AS IS"

VerifyShot is provided strictly on an "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" basis, without warranties or conditions of any kind, whether express, statutory, or implied. To the maximum extent permitted under applicable law, we disclaim all warranties, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

We do not guarantee that the extension or verification registry will operate uninterrupted, error-free, or securely at all times.

4. Technical Nature of Outputs (No Legal Advice)

VerifyShot calculates mathematical hashes (SHA-256) and logs independent atomic time records (NTP). These records provide technical transparency, but:

• VerifyShot is a software utility and not a law firm, notary public, or accredited trust service provider under eIDAS or equivalent national regulations.
• We do not guarantee that records produced by VerifyShot will be admitted as evidence or accepted by courts, arbitration panels, or regulatory agencies.
• Users remain solely responsible for evaluating whether technical checksums fulfill their legal, regulatory, or compliance obligations.

5. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the authors, developers, and operators of VerifyShot shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, consequential, punitive, or exemplary damages, including but not limited to:

• Financial losses, lost profits, or business interruption.
• Loss of data or corrupted image exports.
• Failed legal claims, administrative penalties, or evidentiary rejections.
• Third-party server downtimes (e.g., NTP servers, Cloudflare, or database infrastructure).

6. Early-Adopter Beta & Future Subscriptions

During our early-adopter beta phase, eligible registered accounts are granted free unlimited access. When commercial tiers are rolled out (via payment providers such as Lemon Squeezy), grandfathered early adopters will maintain their lifetime benefits subject to acceptable fair use.

7. Acceptable Use

You agree not to use VerifyShot to:

• Violate applicable regional or international laws or infringe third-party intellectual property.
• Attempt to disrupt, reverse-engineer, or spam the public verification registry with automated denial-of-service requests.
• Misrepresent technical checksums as official judicial or notarial seals.

8. Governing Law

These terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Federal Republic of Germany, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
